League History
The Blue Ridge Sportsmen’s Association Horseshoe League was established in 1994. The league runs from April until September. To participate in the league you must be a member in good standing of the Blue Ridge Sportsmen’s Association and over the age of 18. There is currently a Monday and Thursday night league.

Monday Night Co-ed League
Bring your own partner of the opposite sex for the season. Teams will play 4 games against their opponent. All team’s wins and losses are recorded.

Thursday Night League
Thursday’s league is broken into four brackets based on the player’s ringer average: Top A’s, Bottom A’s, Top B’s, and Bottom B’s. Partners are drawn at the Annual Horseshoe Meeting held in April. Teams will play 4 games against their opponent and will have their point and ringer averages recorded by a scorekeeper.

Monthly Tournaments
We host a Horseshoe Tournament each month. All monthly tournaments are open to the public and we welcome other leagues. They are draw partner tournaments. Each player is broken into either A or B bracket depending on their ringer average.

Regular monthly round-robin tournaments begin in April and run through September. All tournaments are held on Sunday except our August tournament which is a Saturday night. Prices for the monthly Sunday tournaments are as follows: $20 to eat, drink, and pitch; $15 to eat and drink; $10.00 for children; and $5.00 to pitch only. Saturday night tournament prices increase an additional $5. Participants need to be registered by 11:30 a.m. for Sunday tournaments and registered by 3:30 p.m. for the Saturday tournament.

Players must be 18 years or older to participate in all tournaments.
At the end of each tournament, cash prizes are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in both A and B brackets. If time permits, we offer a $5.00 double elimination with luck of draw partners at the end of the round-robin.
